The Association of the United States Army is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Army and supporters of a strong national defense. AUSA provides a voice for the Army, supports the Soldier, and honors those who have served in order to advance the security of the nation.

OUR HISTORY
Born on July 5, 1950, the Association of the United States Army had a clear purpose. America’s foundational military force needed to speak with one voice.In a joint message, a group of World War II wartime leaders accustomed to protecting their service branch showed they were ready to lock arms for a loftier cause. “Let us put our resources and efforts into an association that can keep in the forefront the importance and requirements of the cutting edge of our national defense – in particular, the needs of the soldiers and their families that are the Army,” declared top Army leaders from the Infantry Association and Field Artillery Association.AUSA’s first president was Gen. Wade H. Haislip, an infantry officer serving as Army vice chief of staff. President Harry S. Truman, a former artilleryman, was the honorary president. Seventy years later, AUSA has expanded, but its purpose hasn’t changed. As an educational nonprofit, AUSA aims to be the Army’s professional association, dedicated to educational development, advancing national security and promoting greater recognition of the Army’s vital role in American life, past, present and future.AUSA is a growing organization, tripling its membership since 2017, with plans to continue expanding its size, reach and influence.

AUSA Korea Chapter: A Year in Review (2024)
The AUSA Korea Chapter had a dynamic and impactful year in 2024, marked by significant events and a strong commitment to fostering collaboration within the defense community.
Key Highlights:
April: The Chapter kicked off the year with a week-long event at Camp Humphreys, featuring exhibits from OCONUS partners and showcasing the strength of industry collaboration.
May: Active participation in the Pacific Regional Meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, further strengthened regional ties and provided valuable insights.
June: A productive Board of Directors meeting hosted IMCOM CDR for Camp Humphreys, fostering valuable dialogue and collaboration.
July: AUSA actively supported the 4th of July celebrations at Camp Humphreys, utilizing the event for membership drives and educational outreach. The Chapter also initiated a series of events to enhance collaboration between the US military and ROK industry partners, beginning with an introductory session for the 19th ESC and 906th CBN.
September: The Chapter played a significant role in the 74th Anniversary of Pusan Nakdong River Bridgehead commemoration, a poignant event honoring the legacy of the Korean War.
October: AUSA Korea Chapter facilitated the participation of personnel from Camp Humphreys and 19th ESC at the Korea Army International Defense Industry Exhibition, providing valuable networking opportunities and enhancing industry engagement.
November: The Chapter hosted its Annual Meeting and Golf Tournament, bringing together over 166 members for a day of camaraderie and networking. The event featured a distinguished guest speaker, Col. Ryan Workman, and showcased the contributions of JROTC from Humphreys High School.
November: Active participation in the 18th ROK-U.S. Alliance Forum, a critical platform for discussing key defense and security issues.
December: AUSA Korea Chapter concluded the year with participation in the AROKA Family Day, celebrating the partnership and contributions of the ROK and US military.
Key Accomplishments:
Enhanced Industry Collaboration: Facilitated valuable connections between US military and ROK industry partners through various events and initiatives.
Strong Membership Growth: Successfully recruited over 70 new members, expanding the Chapter's reach and influence.
